A great day for flying

Having enjoyed attending Hannah & Kris' wedding in Hawarden yesterday, it was a perfect day to fly back to Wellington today, with beautiful clear skies all the way and a port-side window seat on Jetstar flight JQ292 from Christchurch to Wellington. In case you were wondering, the flight was on time. It was a straight take-off to the northeast from CHC, followed by a quick dash up the Kaikoura coast and a right hook at Plimmerton to come in over the harbour for a northerly descent into WLG. There was time for a quick glimpse of the Hobbit set on Miramar peninsula just beneath Mt Crawford Prison and then we were down.

Came here for the Hobbit set photo, but had to comment on how good the others were, especially the one with the river in the foreground. Nice job!

Saw The Hobbit pic on TheOneRing.Net, but the others are terrific too. Also, I thoroughly approve of the P.G. Wodehouse quote. The man was a genius.

Toodle pip.

I also visited this blog for the Hobbit set, but also had to drop a comment for the other pictures. The scenery is really stunning! The fourth one is just so beautiful. I need to go to NZ someday. ;_;

Thanks for visiting, all! Anon, the 4th photo that you mentioned is the Marlborough Sounds - the ferry from the North Island to the South Island goes through them and it's a fantastic trip. You can just see a ferry wake in the picture.
