Today Richard, Sam, Otene and I borrowed Sam's parents' car and took a summer drive in the Kent countryside to Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill from 1922 until his death in 1965. The house is situated in a lush valley near the village of Westerham, and contains many of Churchill's books and personal paintings. Several rooms are devoted to displaying the correspondence and gifts he received from around the world during his illustrious career. Nice to enjoy the countryside just outside London, full of old pubs, winding village streets and of course plenty of other sightseers...
